This stunning looking Dreadnaught shaped acoustic guitar from Indie is not just a looker, it plays very nicely, has a good tone with an active pickup system for performing or recording purposes.

So, this model, the Designer Flag DCE, has a large, wide headstock, in brighty whitey front and back, as clean and bright as you can get! Indies logo is on the top in black. The back has 2 rows of 3-a-side Chrome die-cast tuners, unbranded, they do the job nicely.
The Mahogany neck is also bright white, all heavily gloss as well, giving a cool, smooth feel. The neck is moderately chunky, a D profile that will suit most hands without a problem. Top nut (this is bright white too) width is 43mm.
All Indie guitars are fully set-up by their own Luthiers prior to distpatch to us dealers, and this model has an action height of 4mm at the 12th fret on the bass side, 2-3mm on the treble.
The Rosewood fingerboard is fully bound in white plastic, the frets are finished off very nicely and the grain is good and tight. All good quality stuff. Notice the lovely diamond inlays in white Abolone.
The neck joins the Nato body at the 14th fret, no cutaway on this electro version though, so upper frets are out of bound, as on any dreadnaught. The back and sides are completely bright white, both the top and back are fully bound in white plastic (not quite as bright though).
Indie have put the EQ unit quite low down on the side of this guitar, about level with the bridge. It's got straight forward controls of bass, middle, treble, presence and a volume control, all on sliders. The battery is also housed here, and there is a battery low warning light.
So to the Spruce top, it's pretty snazzy. Indie make a few of these guitars with detailed tops, flags are their speciality, and looking at the paint job, it's quality. No runs, smudging or overlapping here, a quality job. The colours are bright and clean, and it's been well planned out so the flag is totally symetrical, along with the guitar itself.
The soundhole has a simple black line for a rosette, white looks good, as it kind of separates that from the rest of the design. The bridge is Rosewood with 6 white bridge pins, and the output jack is on the lower bout, not built into the strap hook though.
It's a nice player as well, deep tones, good volume and plenty of body. It has plenty of sustain, and charm to the upper register, whilst there is plenty of bass too.
In all, it's a quality dreadnaught, good materials have been used, nicely finished off and sounds are good. It's the finish that really makes you awnt it though, and that is just a great talking point that will get you noticed on the stage of any pub or club!
